There are two black rubber bushings in the corners of the front edge that are adjustable mine needed to be turned up to lower below the bumper slightly.

Uber Cool

Thanks, this is why I love this forum

You can also remove the trim around the latch and the hood latch is also adjustable up and down and left to right.

amagalla 09-25-2015 12:16 AM

Put on a third coat of wax. Man, it looks nice.

Polished it then sealed, but the polish I got wasn't aggressive enough. I will have to try again in a couple weeks. There is a lot of etching from birds in the hood, but right now it looks good from my desk.

I just got to finish installing the Sirius radio in my car.
Woody sent me all the parts and cables so everything looks stock and genuine :)
Now I don't have to change channels during commercials !
Thanks again Woody.

I drove on a cobblestone road. Not recommended.

Bumperette paint

I spent Saturday painting my rear bumperettes Arctic Silver to match the body. Lot's of prep and sanding but the final look was worth it.

After cleaning with acetone they got a 2 coats of plastic prep spray
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1443451166.jpg

Then 3 coats of primer, sanding with 600 and 1000 wet sandpaper between coats.
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1443451291.jpg

Then 4 coats of arctic silver base coat sanding with 1500 grit between coats leaving the final coat un-sanded.
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1443451672.jpg

And finally 4 coats of clear coat, sanding between coats 2 and 3 with 1500 grit
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1443451553.jpg

All the material was purchased from Automotive Touchup and matched perfectly.

Is there a write up on this any where?

amagalla 09-28-2015 04:42 PM

It has to bee done at the dealer or through an indy, and the key fob has to have programming tag.

Tossed the hardtop on for a rainy weekend. It's MUCH quieter on the highway.

Good: yesterday I put a good 150 on it with the top down
Bad: called my indy to schedule an end of season oil change and inspection, and then called my storage company to schedule a drop off

25 days of awesomeness left...

No issue with the wind deflector taking off at this kind of speed?

cardiffgiant 10-05-2015 12:41 PM

To clarify, that was 150 miles at the posted speed limits. Always at the posted speed limits :)

Changed a burned out rear side marker bulb. Not just any ol' bulb I had laying around which would fit, (like a 4.6 watt "194" I had in my bulb stash), but the exact right bulb I made a special trip to the auto parts store to track down, a 3.0 watt specification "2821" (perhaps originally strictly specified for the application by Dr. Ferdinand. :) )

You've just got to love it when you can properly repair a high performance German automobile with a common part from the shelf of an auto parts store. (A rare occurrence indeed!)

Well not today, but last weekend.... I attended the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta with the PCA. Great fun regardless of the rain!! Below is a picture of me in the PCA parade laps:http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1444251626.jpg

Cheers,

I got the 18" replica GT3 wheels for my black aerokit car back from the wheel shop. Who needs a truck?

Oooooo. Looking forward to seeing these mounted!

Jamesp 10-07-2015 05:27 PM

Replaced both rear axles. Woo Hoo! back on the road.

fridsten 10-07-2015 10:50 PM

I drove it to work with the top down. The outside temperature was around 7°C (or ~45F) here in Sweden.

afterafx 10-08-2015 07:20 PM

Drove the Boxster 130 miles up the 99 north. I love using every chance I get to drive it.

Porsche9 10-08-2015 10:08 PM

Took the hardtop off now that the Phoenix winter....err summer is over.

fridsten 10-08-2015 10:28 PM

Colder today, but the season isn't over until I say it is...

Installed new SS braided brake lines, new speed bleeder valves and bled the brakes once finished. As I was bleeding the brakes, the frunk fell down on top of the Motive Bleeder that I had sitting in there and put a small ding in the hood. I had a guy come out to hammer the ding out and you could never tell it was ever there.

Next project is to install Pedro's TechnoBrace and refinish the lug nuts.

rick3000 10-10-2015 09:26 PM

Finally got around to cleaning and waterproofing my soft top before the hardtop goes back on for the winter. Used 303 Cleaner and Renovo UltraProofer. Brushing on the waterproofer was oddly satisfying.

Tried bridging the fuel pump relay but still no start! I'm fast running out of ideas :-/

Took my headlight swtich apart, cleaned the contacts, put it back together and it actually works now!

Went all last week with no headlights.

samandrewsone 10-11-2015 10:11 PM

I had seated in there and put a little damage in the bonnet. I had a guy come out to sort the damage out and you could never tell it was ever there.

Today I Plasti dipped my scuffed rims Gunmetal Grey. I think they turned out well, and will be fine until the budget lets me buy their replacements.

I removed the hood crest and polished it. Cleaned the hood crest gasket, cleaned all the crap that collected under it and waxed the area. Had to get two new nuts from the dealership to bolt down the crest again.
