What did you do with/to your Boxster today?
This morning I installed red leather console trim. The armrest and panels below the shifter are now in glorious contrast to the rest of the black interior. :D
Pics to come when I get home. |
I took mine to a meeting today that I was running late for so I thought I could get there quicker.
Seems like someone had the same idea in his boxster that I did but he had a much different outcome. Deserion will know the street - Southside. I was driving to my meeting and saw what looked like a boxster pulled over. Beautiful blue with blue top. The Frunk was open but not like normal. I think this guy must have forgotten to put his Frunk in the all the way closed position. Looks like his Frunk broke and flew up to where it was laying all the way back on his windshield. I felt so bad for the guy...he was just getting out of his car and it did not look pretty. I hope that wasnt the case...and if he is part of this forum and sees this...let us know! |
Drove it to work and lunch... exciting...
|
Drive it to class and felt her up on the way ;)
|
Nothing, she's in the shop getting an IMS refit & clutch.
|
Sealed the top with 303 Protectant.now it has to cure for the next 12 hours...if the kids go to bed early enough I may pop on my new headlights and tailights that arrived yesterday.
|
Went for a ride!
|
Did 600km to buy a hard top then drove back home with it. Nice long ride.

Drove it past a BMW briskly
|
Drove it to a friends funeral and then home...
|
Got it ready to go to Willow Springs raceway this weekend! Nothing more fun than a Boxster on a racetrack. :D
|
Drove it to work (25 miles)
Drove it to one of my other offices (14 miles along the coast on a secluded road I might add, on a beautiful sunny California day) Drove it to lunch (16 miles) Drove it back to the first office (12 miles) Drove it to another office (1 mile) Drove it home (25 miles) No wonder I have over 232,000 miles on the Jägermobile!! |

Walked right by it in the morning... Got on the harley and rode to work.
Got home... Felt a little quilty. Took her out for about a 30 mile back road drive. Top down. Great day for both vehicles! |
took a 60-mile trip to nowhere through the hills around here
|
Had my daughter contort herself to remove the set screws on the ignition switch so I could replace it. Had her contort again to tighten the screws.
Took it out in the rain to have dinner with a buddy who hadn't seen it yet, took him for a spin. He's now talking getting one in a few years. :D Bear |
Drove down Sunset Blvd at night with my wife on our Anniversary! Top and windows down of course!
|
Drove down PCH, had a Vette rev up his motor to race..
Just ignored him and let him take off, I then just listen to my motor exhaust shifting through the gears.. Popped the top up and jumped on the 405 and opened it up a bit on the return trip.. Dropped the top upon off ramp exit and took the back way home.. Parked in the garage and tried the comb the knots out of my hair..:p T |

Tried to get LED turn signals and brake lights to work %^&*$. And said, "Stuff it!" I had just waxed her so I needed an excuse for a drive. Grabbed the list. Went the long way shopping, taking on some twisties. Yes, we have some of those roads in Texas - just not like CA or CO. Saw a sport bike and both of us took off! He passed me I passed him, there was mutual respect of speed. It ended with a salute and a pledge to get a Gixxer!
I decided to do the Crios Exhaust Mod. Found a punch at Lowes that was ¾" in diameter and costs $12. Pretty cheap and easy. I had the mod done in less than 5 minutes. It DOES seem to provide "more flow" at higher RPMs (wish I would have thought of it earlier in the day - could have given the Suzuki a better run). Then, I packed up my wife and we went out for dinner. We enjoyed the long way to the restaurant but had to take the short way back. You KNOW what it is like driving aggressively on a full stomach. :barf: So my day was cut short by eating….have to remember to do less of that! |

I rode my motorcycle earlier in the evening and was glad to loose the helmet..lol T |
took it for a top down blast.. and had one of these up my rear..
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2798/...f70dd14259.jpg then on the way back, had a bit of 'play' with a 2002 911 GT2 ;) |
Drove to the beach to enjoy on of the last warm weekends in New York, then did a manual transmission lesson for the girlfriend. She always drives better in a bikini (sitting on a towel, of course).
|
Wife & I went on a 160 mile tour in the Sierra Foothills with my PCA region. Top down for the second half. Awesome day, great new friends & 24 of the finest sports cars in the world. Ended at a Micro Brewery in Camino for lunch. Life is good!
|
Drove it to visit the girlfriend at work and be a coffee delivery ********************, then back to the garage where I changed the transmission oil, then tried to locate my fuel filter... Gave up after 10 minutes and realized that it isn't equipped with a serviceable fuel filter. Checked out what it looks like underneath, located a torn CV boot and determined what next week's project is. Then took it for a drive and saw that 44,000 miles on transmission oil is plenty and changing it was beneficial
Edit: boo censors! |
Thought seriously about selling it to be done with the headache.

Checked out a 2006 987 for my mom today. Was pretty nice overall, has a better exhaust note than my 986 does.

Well today was the first day for a spirited drive to test all of my work. Our regional PCA group put on a wonderful drive to Bickleton Wa, then down to Maryhill winery and back home (~240 miles). Got to met Dave Cooley who is the PCA rep for Region 6 Big Sky country who was on one of his required drives, and hear about the vintage Porsche cars he is working on including a beautiful 356. Here are a couple of pics...

I got 4 new Hankooks installed. 255/40-17, 215/50-17
Yes, you can fit all 4 new tires in the car to take to the shop. a front and rear on the passenger seat, a rear in the frunk with the spare removed, and a front in the trunk with the trunk hanging open a bit. Compared to the old Pilot Sports I already notice an increase in traction but it takes 200-300 mi to properly break them in apparently so it will get even better. |
Saturday, took the car to Santiago Canyon, then to Live Oak..
I've taken this ride on my motorcycle many times, was fun to take the car. (Some of you familiar with Cooks Corner) Came hone the car was hot, the wheels were hot to touch.. I love this hairpin turn at the end of Live Oak,, hard right then an immediate banking uphill left. when you crest the top you cannot see the road for moment.. Installed a Black and Silver Hood Crest & Chrome Boot Decal. - looks awsome.
Will up some pics later 2000 2.7 box Artic Silver with Black Interior. |
Drove it a little and then
painted the lug bolts silver.
|
yesterday
We drove to Amish country south of Cleveland. There are a lot of nice two lane roads and hills. The blind hills are a little scary when a buggy going 16 mph may be on the other side. Lehman's hardware store is always fun.
|
Looked at it as I got the lawn mower out to mow the lawns.....looked at it again when I loaded ladders on my truck for work tomorrow.....Left light on in garage so will look at it one more time when I go to turn light off. Wednesday gonna put some miles on....
|
A buddy got a set of scales, so my car got weighed today...2650 lbs!! The diet is working. It was a bit heavy on the right rear. Corner balancing comes next.
