The dsp is one of these: https://www.minidsp.com/products/minidsp-in-a-box/minidsp-2x4
It will feed the signal to whatever amplifier(s) I choose.

My stereo build log is here: 2002 Porsche Boxster S - Car Audio | DiyMobileAudio.com | Car Stereo Forum

I still have a lot of work to do to finish what I want, but this was a big step.

Like the manual says, pump them up to 58 psi and don't put the car on jack stands or else the shocks may be subject to rusting. It's all in the manual, at least in my 2003 Boxster manual.

Today, following the write up posted here, I hooked the camera up to my new head unit.

http://i1303.photobucket.com/albums/...psr725z607.jpg

Then cleaned it. While I was working on it, I resoldered the tabs on the rear defroster, and hooked the wire back up. Also replaced the broken clip that holds the wind deflector in. Still have a bunch of little projects to do to it. Most notably, fix the paint runs on the dash were I installed the new head unit.

There might be, but it should return to shape when driving it in the spring. I'm not worried.

The camera can be aimed up and down. Not sure if the lines can be changed. Didn't try.

Last drive for the year to get the engine warmed up and top up the fuel tank. Changed the oil, no shinny bits in the filter, :) Tucked her away for the 5 month sleep, all ready in withdrawal :(http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1446310718.jpg

Spent money

Purchased necessary parts to convert my 99 986 to a 987 air intake. This seems like an ambitious project wont even attempt it till next year some time.

Bought a used Atlas Scissor lift. Took an hour and half to muscle it up onto a tilt bed trailer with the use of a come along. The wheels did roll so well. Slid it onto the floor of the garage with about 15 minutes of effort - after taking apart the steel wheels. Cleaned and greased the shafts that held the wheels. It rolled right off and into place.

Changed out the radio with a new double din HU. Went with an Parrot Asteroid Smart, I really liked all the features of it and didn't need a CD player. GPS works great, installed a USB/AUX in the dash and with the six channel upgraded amp and rear speaker package it sounds great. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1446460160.jpg

Avoided these guys,

http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/z...2e9cf698ee.jpg

Had a close call in June when I learned they could fly, almost got dinner and a new windshield.
I've hit birds before on my bike but don't want to have that encounter with one of these, it could end very badly. :(

BruceH 11-02-2015 04:30 PM

Had all of the fluids changed out, oil, brakes, coolant and gear oil. I usually do my own oil and brake fluid changes but I didn't feel like messing with the coolant and gear oil, so.....I figured I would just get it all done at once. $720 out the door, not bad IMO.

oldskool73 11-03-2015 06:27 AM

Had new rotors and pads put in all round, and had the rear trailing arms replaced so no more sounding like I'm transporting lumber in the trunk over every bump. Took a shot of my local inde's garage while I was there...

What it lacks in tidiness it makes up for in character and classic cars!

Between them and the winter I second guess my reasons for living in the province that I was born into.

Wild turkeys. They where reintroduced a few decades back. I've seen flocks a few dozen large around here. They weigh up to around 20lbs give or take. Enough to ruin your day if you have the misfortune of hitting one at speed.

What did you do with/to your Boxster today?

Did a test patch on and under the r/h taillight for an impending paint correction - single stage didn't give the results I'm after so I'll need to up the ante to a three stage correction.

And this pic just because I like it. I intend on putting in some Narva Phantom turn signal gloves in which I think will freshen things up a little.

I got pissed off at it today. After an entire days worth of maintenance, it still runs like crap. See OUCH!!! thread in General Discussions.

My 2.7 took 9.3 or so today...2 digital bars from top of recommended range after running it for a while and waiting 10 minutes.

Do 2.5/2.7/3.2 hold slightly different amounts? I followed your thread and certainly know that you know your stuff.

78F350 11-24-2015 04:20 PM

Today I replaced a water pump and put in a 160f thermostat on the Black 99. As I drained the old coolant, it was clearly not Porsche coolant and had more sediments in it than I'd ever like to see. After running some distilled water through it, I refilled with Prestone rather than wasting the good stuff. I'm going to flush it again after about 500 miles or so.
...Oil: while I got the coolant I saw a great deal on Castrol Edge 5W-50 @ $4 a quart and grabbed all 8 quarts they had. I spent about 20 minutes researching it on my phone as I stood there in the aisle. I think it will be okay in a Boxster, but I dare not start another oil thread to mention it. ;)

Sacrilege... I gained foot room...ask me how

Danger, Sacrilege and advanced modification ahead.

So I rotated the fuse box up to the lip the OBDI-II port is on...

I hope my fuses don't fall out now it's facing down.

so.
moved the port elsewhere. used it's hole towards the middle and drilled a second 3" towards middle, re-used it's screws into two holes the carpeted cover screwed into, cut a bit of the ziptie channel off...

Had to massage the air duct a bit to squeez the box up there, but it's soft plastic.
took a bit to gently and slowly flex the wiring loom into the new position
(removed old wrapping, & combed it w/ my fingers)

easier w a heat gun I'd think (but carefully) on duct.
them trim down side cover to a sliver to protect the loom from your foot on entry.

To do it again, I'd heat the wiring loom a bit too when flexing it into new location.

then wrap in tape.

now a totally hidden fuse box, and tons more foot space.

Sassmatt72 11-24-2015 05:09 PM

Mounts from stock sliders to buckets

My pal gave me a set of corbeau's glass buckets that actually fit my shoulders.

So, adapter plates to the stock sliders, and trim down the stock belt mounts too...

;-) Joy Shoulder room for ages.
and a "better" (for me) seating position.

I love a car that is awesome yet cost me next to nothing, I feel free to do as I please.

Hope so! My car is at the indie today to try and sort out the lack of heat problem I'm having (no heat and foam blowing from the vents - needs repair air mixer) in this former FL car.

BTW, my Box is Midnight Blue Metallic. Its one of those colors that changes depending on the light, shadows, camera, etc. It does look black at times. Also, purple.
