Hi!
I received... a door tag today! I'll get the base shifters tomorrow!
Also, I will do an install soon, and I'll try to make a video! At least of the install of the shifter inside the base
Ben.

After several months of the new shifter sitting on my work bench, I finally got around to installing it today. I guess it took about 2 hours. Getting the old bushings off is the hardest part. I took a single edge razor held by a pair of plyers and cut off the old tabs until they were free. The second hardest thing was removing and installing the clips that hold the shift cables to the shifter base. I marked the cables so I knew where they should be returned to so that was easy. Once it was all back together, I took it for a drive. The shift distance is without a doubt shorter. It's a bit tougher to shift but it won't take too long before it's second nature. Overall, I'm happy with the results.

Be sure to send a copy of the video to Neil B in U.K.(the Road & Race Boxster, You Tube guy) because he is a fan of yours now ! It would be great if he would do an install of your kit on his car - drum up some International Sales ? At least this will be an upgrade that works instead of some of the tweaks he tried that did not.

I think Neil's car is a Tip. But he still might be willing to give you some pub, Ben.

Received mine a while back, march 2016, and it has been sitting on the shelf all this time... Today I was down there cleaning and decided, time to do this. Used the B&M and the Function first instructions, it all was much easier than I thought it would be. And those little white pieces really do fly...
Hope to get it installed one day this week at lunch...

Before:
After:
You can see that before polishing, the shaft is OK, but not perfect.
After polishing, way better!
Now I'm just waiting on the machine shop!

Ben ,If your machinist has an Ra ,roughness measurement tool - measure the delta between the polished and unpolished part? Interesting that such polishing makes such a difference.
Ben you need to publicize your video !

I can't edit the first post anymore, I don't know why?
Unfortunately I don't interect directly with my machinist anymore :/ I drop the parts at his front door at 6:50am, and pick them up the same way, he opens at 7:30!
I'll do another install soon, I'll try to take precise pictures to complete the video

Hi Ben,
Just took delivery of the short shifter from you and I'm wondering if I have to reverse the stick again given I drive on the correct (right) side of the road! I note you mention that when you first get the kit you have to fix them (as they are installed backwards) but wondering if that's because they are expecting install on car for drivers on the right ??

@auBoxster - no, you don't need to flip it again. I also have one, works fine as is, and Ben explained it to me as :
"I still need to flip the lever, the whole assembly is tilted on the left to make room for a nut, and when the lever is flipped, it points right up:"
Pretty sure you meant "correct (left) side of the road" too
