After several months of the new shifter sitting on my work bench, I finally got around to installing it today. I guess it took about 2 hours. Getting the old bushings off is the hardest part. I took a single edge razor held by a pair of plyers and cut off the old tabs until they were free. The second hardest thing was removing and installing the clips that hold the shift cables to the shifter base. I marked the cables so I knew where they should be returned to so that was easy. Once it was all back together, I took it for a drive. The shift distance is without a doubt shorter. It's a bit tougher to shift but it won't take too long before it's second nature. Overall, I'm happy with the results.
