Dale,

Welcome to our Porsche community!

I, too, looked at an S2K prior to purchasing my Boxster S. My main reasons for buying the Boxster:

1. I've owned a '99 Boxster before, and it was awesome.

2. I've worked for a Honda dealer and have seen S2000s come through. Although reliable, they lack something the Boxster S has in spades. See #3.

3. The Boxster's got low-end torque. The S2000 must be revved to the sky to get anywhere fast. Handling is almost a perfect match for the Boxster, but they can't beat us in slalom speed, braking distances, or powering out of low-speed corners.

Ultimately, you'll probably end up spending more on the Boxster for maintenance, but the Box' will get you more smiles per gallon.
