I like Randall own a '97. It's an everyday driver and I love the car. When purchased I didn't know a thing about Boxsters and have I learned a lot! (thanks Randall) To summarize; the car was a garage queen, only 9700 miles at purchase. I have spent the following: tires - $1000, Towing $386.00 (bad radiator cap) $0 repair cost at dealer, $79.00 oil change, $800.00 Blizzaks for Winter in Colorado. I have driven over 11,000 miles so far and its been a blast. Starts in below 0 weather, OK in snow, and gets me to the airport every Monday. I've owned Lexus, Toyota's, and a variety of domestics and I think Porsche's sometimes get a bad rap for reliability. I have been so pleased with this car I am now looking at a 2002 C4 from the same dealership I bought this Boxster from. I don't want to give up the Box but 4WD is something I could use out here in CO. Porsche - I'm hooked!! Good luck!
