Very neat idea / product but as you mention time / volume is not on side with this arrangement.....thanks for the interesting post though

I’ve never had an issue with the SOF, installed 2009, but the first magnetic drain plug developed a pinhole about 2 years ago and leaked a few drops a day. I had a hard time believing that was the source of the oil but replacing it resolved the leak.
