If I crashed a car and was embarrassed I would probably blame some mechanical part of the car too. If the throttle was stuck, wouldn't you continue to hear the engine rev? It appears to decrease prior to hitting the wall. Compare the WOT sound of him coming out of the corner to just prior to the "oh crap moment" when impact is unavoidable. Yeah, it does sound like the engine is much quieter. It's strange that he never seemed to turn the steering wheel.
