First off, there is only 1 motor for the Boxster...
First off, there is only 1 motor for the Boxster top and clam shell. Not sure what you mean when you say one of the motors failed. My guess is you had an issue with a top transmission on one side...

Man, I had my console apart early spring but don't remember exactly were those go. IIRC, there is an electrical connection at the console lid lock area. I'm certain its not for heated seats.
