Hi Porsche 986,
I can imagine that Porsche UK accepts the replacement of the rear plastic window but then they decided it locally for their own (financial) benefit.
I was very surprised to read that a replacement after 3 years was recommended ???
Note that it was Porsche who developed the Boxster with its plastic rear window and we may expect that they did some aging tests with it before releasing it for production. If they were in the opinion that it should be changed every 'X'-years then they better installed it with a zipper.
So I can assure you that a replacement of the rear plastic window is not a Porsche accepted issue at the Continent.
I just wanted to draw the attention of CA_Boxster to this regulation which he better checks with his dealer and with Porsche NA in writing to avoid any misunderstandings about warranty which is still valid on his car!

Regards,

Alfred
