I guess I'll just use this thread to chronicle my build
As some of you have seen, my seats are totally shredded and pretty much scrap. Since buying the car I've been hunting down some sport seats out of a 996 or 986 that had no tears, scratches, or rips - was looking for a 7/10 in terms of appearance.
After searching eBay and CL, the going rate for sport seats is about $1k per seat in decent condition. I called up LA Dismantlers and they happened to have a pair of seats in decent condition. I got the pair for $1k shipped.
Decided that I would replace the seats today, in 90F and 75% humidity
Here are some pics from today. The only issue I encountered is that I have a "airbag failure" warning light, how do I clear it?
