It looks like one of the hard dog rollbars, I have had 2 of them in 2 different miatas for my son. They are the real deal when mounted properly.

I did see a guy driving around town yesterday with one the "mousetrap" roll hoops - I was scared just from looking at it. They are just bolted on in one place, and if you rollover there is a good chance it will come down on your neck, hence the name "mousetrap".
