I've had my 944 turbo since 1993 and still have one today. A Boxster owner since 2006 and today I have two (986 and 987). Ive had this comments directed at me several times over the years and I'm sick of it. For the most part I just say I can't justify the cost of a GT2/GT3 or a 911 turbo so I bought the next best car the brand makes. The last time I was approached I gave the individual this comment.
Porsche pecking order and I walked away. No offense to the 996 owners here but at that time it was the only response I could think of and it just came out.
