AOS accordion hoses replacement

Two days ago, I finally replaced the two accordion hoses that connect to the AOS and cleaned the engine as the bottom hose was leaking underneath the intake plenum and the top hose had a pinched o-ring where it connects to the AOS.

Question: I noticed that the engine runs smother and has more power, however is this indeed by the fact that the engine vacuum helps the piston rings seal better, therefore makes more power? Or is just my imagination..?
