Intermix is not the oil cooler - now what?

I had the same problem with a cracked head. It was a very scary thought to pull the engine but there was a lot of documentation about doing it so I did it. Take your time and take lots of pictures it's not that bad. The engine timing thing is kind of daunting but in the end not that difficult. I had the heads pressure tested locally then sent to Hoffman Engineering, they are fantastic. Mine was due to core shift so with a very small amount of extra aluminum we wouldn't be having this problem. I was 59 years old and did it all by myself.

A lot of discussion here, but I think it is residual oil that has come out of small passages. I would get rid of the oil, drive the car some more and then check to see if there's more oil. My money is on less or no more oil in the coolant.

Not ridiculing at all...as another 59 year old, things are certainly getting tougher to do than ten years ago. Doesn't mean I can't or I won't, just means I'm aware of the effort and proud I'm not on the couch.

I need to figure out what to do with my cracked head Boxster

I have a lucrative internship this summer and a solid part time job while in school next spring. However even then I don’t know if it’s repairable or if it’s time for a 3.4 swap.

I am open to selling the car but with it having intermix it’s worth more to me to wait until I have the money to fix it then to lose my favorite car for a few grand.
