				Two-tone seats...should I do it?

I've been thinking about this for too long and need some outside views.
I think I like the idea, but can't land on a definitive decision. Should I two-tone the seats with white leather or leave them be?
If I do decide to go with two-tone, should I do just the rear insert, or the rear and the bottom cushion?

Below is a mock-up with some white cloth for a rough idea.

I think it will make the car look dated if you go for stark color blocking like that.
I would play with adding piping instead to go with your black/white shifter motif. Like they do it on the Range Rover, piping on the edges only.

I would also maybe replace the black carpeting on the doors and foot wells with dark grey/alcantara, do the steering wheel in alcantara with padding, and find similar shade of grey for the floor matts. Could work on the seat inserts too since it will be softer blend than going full on white. So you have a "theme" of white/black/grey with hints of white stripes here and there.
piping in black interior (not a fan of the inserts though).

All of that white is a lot to take in, which is why I've been on the fence for about a year, now.

I still plan to do the door pocket covers in leather with white edging and maybe the door handles upper trim piece, so something more subtle may be best for the seats.
I like your piping or edging idea.

			Yeah, I agree.
After visualizing it, I'm sure that some edging or piping is the way to go. Maybe even just a 1cm edge on both the rear and bottom inserts or a pipe between the inserts and seats. That would be extremely easy to do, also.

I'll play with some white tape and see what I find. |

Pasha is the only black and white interior that has a Porsche look.
Pasha - or not at all!

The BMX crowd wore shoes like that. I still hate those shoes.

I love this. I would totally keep it if I bought that car. Wouldn't put it in a newer car - but love it there. Can't help it.

I actually am going to talk to a friend of mine who does interiors about doing a Alcantara center insert on my seats. Will help in the summer from not being too hot and will make it look a little better.

			Good call, Perfectlap
I like the piping idea much better!
I'm also fairly certain that I only want it on the seat back insert, not the bottom.

Personally, I like the contrasting color block. Porsche's are so damn boring they make BMW interiors look downright blingy!
With that being said, there is always concern for tasteful vs over the top. However, in this case, I don't think that contrast seat inserts are in any way over the top or distasteful.

Some people will like it and some won't. So at the end of the day, if you like, then do it.

Here's a pic of piping on WetOkole seat covers on their Porsche gallery page.
