This is why I love Google Play books. For the garage I would bring my laptop connected to wifi along, log onto Google and my copy of "101 Projects for your Porsche Boxster" loads right up.
And I'm always doing Google searches across the various forums or YouTube for other Porsche people doing similar DIY projects. We've all been there.
The Google Play Books app and site works on any PC or Laptop or any smartphone/tablet than can load Google. Basically its always there for you.
Paper is completely useless to me now.

I like pdf as you can print up pages and go threw the notes with your greasy fat fingers and toss after the job is done. This is also what I did at the dealership when I had electrical problems as I made notes and staple to the hard copy for future reference if the car comes back or if there are other future isssues

Ahhh, unicorns and rainbows. ^_^
Personally, I would rather have the book full of these horrific photos and the problems that caused the engines to die like this. Very interesting to me.

Thats too real for today's world.... Positive reinforcement that "everything is going to be Ok" is all thats acceptable with the masses.
For those who want to learn the "other" side of things, attend my training sessions... Thats where the carnage is brought to the surface...

Thanks for leaving the unnecessary/apocalyptic content out of it, smart move. Porsche Corp will certainly appreciate that. And those enthusiasts with a perfectly running M96 engine will do as much I'm sure.

For example, I have two 101 Boxster Projects books, one is used and greasy in the workshop and the other is in my home office for use when I order parts or need a reference!

I have a tough book that we use in the shop for technical directives and that has benefits.. I also like to print things out or use printed publications, but very little that we do has a directive- we have to create our own processes.
In the beginning we will distribute printed versions only, then move to books on disk or for direct download. Then get into the Amazon system last.
The one thing I have to deal with is how to avoid people who buy the book thinking that with their purchase comes some right to interface with us for their technical questions via telephone...
I've even contemplated putting someone else's name on the book just to avoid that issue. The phone is a horrible enemy.

Just an thought - partner with someone who you train and then can provide internet or phone support for an additional fee. Most DIY'ers will be saving more than enough to be able to pay someone for some help if/when they need it.

Only for those that purchased the book... I don't think drilling will be any procedure steps in the book.

That doesn't work.. No one can be trained about these engines without having first hand experience.. Is never have someone reading cue cards offer support like some places do that offer tech assistance. Anyone who has the required first hand experience will be creating things with their hands, not sitting on a phone line.
I have offered consulting for years, charging people for help is only effective at pissing them off... Trust me, I've been there. We are expected to spend 100k+ a year on development and then give it away. Yes, people have that attitude.
Each day I get closer to removing the telephone system at the facility. We simply do not need it.

Which one? A couple of the stories were picked up by Panorama rather than Excellence.
One article that was written Excellence refused to print after the author had it finished.
