Wow nice lift. I see you got a couple of extra bolts that your not using too.

Is that the Max Jax?

I just changed my oil last week, and wanted to share with everyone the tool I used, which I got from PepBoys. It's a perfect fit, 74-76mm, 14 flute. The one I got was the beefier one, there's one with the same size but cheaper. Bonus pic is a stripped plug vs a new one.

I guess one disadvantage of the spin on filters is that they are more work to cut apart and look for metal debris.

The oil filter is higher than the sump. All you'll get is about 1/2 quart that is contained within the filter, the remaining 8-9 qt will stay in the sump.

Not when you have the correct tools:

LOL, yes good eye.. Although some bolts are missing I used crazy glue to keep it in place! (:

It is a Max Jax, awesome. With a chair creeper it lifts to the perfect height. I have a new concrete pad being poured outside my work shop and that will be it's new home. Between the 10 bolts I had 2 that didn't fit- the guy who set the wedge-it anchors kinda messed up. Max Jax has a video using just 1 arm with only 3 anchors and it lifted 3000 lbs... So I figured for an oil change I'd live on the edge a bit.

Very cool - never seen one of those before. I guess you could make one pretty easily from an old tubing cutter.

So much for a quick question about oil filters! OP might has well asked "What oil should I use?"

Ok, so I finally looked at this thread on a desktop - and NOW I understand what everyone is talking about with the oil filling from upside down.. I posted the picture and viewed the thread on an iOS device - it shows the photo right side up!
