I'm saying before you replace the alternator you need to establish that there is not something using battery energy when the car is off beyond what the manufacturer specifies. In my 944 there was a short from a security device. Charge your battery up, let it sit two days without being hooked up and confirm it holds a charge. Then hook up the battery posts and repeat the test. If the battery drains dead just from being hooked up then it has a draw on it, potentially could be from a mistake made on the alpine install.
