There was a thread here yesterday about someone who replaced all of his 02 sensors for around $150. I think it was in the tech forum, tho... No need to drop a ****************load of $$ when aftermarket parts are just as effective and a fraction of the cost.

I think those codes are specific to your DME,so I don't think the values are correct for every Boxster.

Can anyone help me with instructions on how to fix error code P1600 (Manufacture Specific DTC)?
I was driving and all of the sudden my CEL, ABS, and battery light came on. I purchased a new battery right away (Interstate 700cc). Car drove fine for about 3hrs and the CEL, ABS, and battery light came back on. Weird think was a repetitive clicking noise and the car light started to dim, wipers got stuck, gauges went crazy...all UFO like...please help...thanks!

Check your ground cable and make sure you have good connections at both ends of the cable. Do you have a multi-meter??

Sounds like you have an issue with the ignition switch.
The electric part can be easily replaced and cost around 20$.
This way or the other, a Durametric diagnostic tool will help all of you guys to better understand your issue.

You will need a multi-meter to check the voltage across your battery while the motor is running to see if the alternator is charging the battery. You need to see something between 13 and 14.5 volts while the motor is running.

I do not have a multimeter. My new battery got drained over night so I was told it has to be a bad alternator. I did checked the ground wire in the engine bay and did not see any disconnection. So should I just replace both the starter and alternator? Any one have suggestions where I can get quality parts for good price? Thanks!
Buy the way, how do I use the multi-meter and how can I test the battery if engine is not running due to the battery drainage? I can purchase one from SEARS to test out your suggestions.

Looks like you need to get a battery charger on that battery ASAP. I'm sure your starter is OK but suspect you have a bad alternator.

When you say the battery drained overnight are you sure there are no "pulls" on the battery when the car is sitting off?

What is a PULL? I'm guessing your saying any electronic equipment or aftermarket stuff like amps...answer to that would be I have nothing but my Alpine stereo. I had my amp and subs removed months ago. I won't be able to charge my battery until tomorrow morning. My battery charger is in a different vehicle which at a different location. Will the battery be damage due to this drain? I just bought it yesterday...I saw some Bosch Alternators and starters on Ebay...is Ebay products safe for purchasing these types of items. I did not see it on Porsche Suncoast.

I'm saying before you replace the alternator you need to establish that there is not something using battery energy when the car is off beyond what the manufacturer specifies. In my 944 there was a short from a security device. Charge your battery up, let it sit two days without being hooked up and confirm it holds a charge. Then hook up the battery posts and repeat the test. If the battery drains dead just from being hooked up then it has a draw on it, potentially could be from a mistake made on the alpine install.

I think what he is trying to tell you is to put a volt-ohm meter between your positive battery cable (ignition off) and the battery terminal, you should be seeing a current draw of 40-60 mOhms; if the current draw is higher, you have a "parasitic" drain on the battery from something in the car. The source can be located by pulling one fuse at a time until the current drain stops; whatever is doing it is on that circuit............

JFP, exactly, I was just giving him a method to use without a meter since his earlier post said he didn't have one. Given what they cost these days everyone should have one.

Yeah, CENTECH, cheap _and_ crap. bought 4 or 5 a couple of years ago for about $3 a piece. I think they're all dead by now. At work these multimeters are strictly forbidden. They're supposed to be able to be insulated, fused properly, etc., but they are not, they're actually dangerous in some cases.
Don't skimp on your tools!

I spent maybe $30 at Radio Shack for a multimeter 15 years ago and its still going strong. I just can't see spending $100+ for a Fluke MM or equivalent unless I was a mechanic by profession.
