Mounting hardware/brackets/extras

What exactly is needed to mount this windscreen?

I am trying to figure out what I need to by from Porsche for my 1998 Boxster 986,

I don't have any center rear windscreen, only the honeycomb inserts behind each seat and thus no mounting hardware.

You need the frame itself. I think Ive seen just the frames on fleabay but cant be sure.

Can you buy only the "frame" from Porsche? What is the part number? Price?

It would be best to find a used one on eBay. You will also need the Wind Deflector Fastening Parts Set if your car did not come with a wind deflector. Take a look at this page on Pelican.

Thank you. Got a used frame with the two plastic locks, and ordered brackets on eBay. Have not found installation description for 986 (only for 987).
Does anyone have a link or description how to install? Are the holes there under the leather lining? Do you need some special drills?

Updated picture of my Red Sox windscreen... I had originally installed it so it matched the way the logo is displayed on merchanside when viewing from the front of the car. After some feedback (two of my kids who said it looked backwards, and they aren't even baseball fans) as well as a general inquiry from the creator of this awsome unit as well, I decided to switch it around... I simply had to remove it from the car, remove it from the bracket, switch it around and then reinstall it.

Here's how it looks now:

Never got your email. Did not arrive in the mail today, I think its now officially past due. Tracking on gtprojectors says, "The Postal Service could not locate the tracking information for your request." Maybe it got hung up in customs but without tracking info theres no way to know. Do you have access to tracking info I dont? BTW also havent received the Violet LED. Your estimate of 5-7 days arrival would have been early this last week. I also never got instructions on how you wanted it paid for. No worries Fred, great product at a great price, just letting you know the situation...

Skybreaker

Well it's now almost a month since Skybreaker was shipped and still hasn't arrived. Still have no tracking number to find out where it might be cuz the two tracking numbers provided by the gt projectors website don't work. Attempts to contact gt projectors via their website have only been met with silence.

Fred or anyone else, can you help? Don't know what else to do? Anyone else experiencing same issue?

Thanks, Larry

Good enough to let us see that this SkyBreaker thingy should have come as-is from factory. I'll talk to the company and force them to get this standard accessory for the upcoming production roadsters.

Gosh Darnit. I decided to check my tracking number. The US Post Office tried to deliver mine nearly 3 weeks ago. They said a note was placed on the door. Of course, since they constantly deliver to the wrong houses in my neighborhood (swapping mail is how all the neighbors meet) I don't have the slip. Guess where I will be tomorrow in the morning? Picking up my SkyBreaker!

Gt projectors

Fred,

Also backtracking thru the gt website about the tracking # and overdue delivery. Don't know how involved you are with the gt company but if you can exert some influence with them to at least respond to my inquiry, it would be a bit reassuring.

Thanks, Larry
