I have a 2001 Canadian car, so it already had DRL using the headlights. I was concerned that the DRL was lower voltage and therefore a potential problem for the xenons, but then discovered that all the DRL module does is provide full power to the headlights just like when the switch is in the On position. So I just left it alone. Fred convinced me it was no big deal to run his headlights all the time.
Canadian cars have DRL by a module (M113) in the main relay panel. It goes in Positions 6 and 7. There are other ways of getting DRL on US cars: one example is in a thread called "DRL hack with pics?" There are likely others if you do a search. Hope it helps.
Don't forget there's a great set of instructions for installing Fred's lights; I wrote it!
Hello - I've been PM'ing with Nine8Six and am very close to ordering a headlight projector kit from him. I'm in Southern Ontario and need daytime running light functionality. He referred me to you, said you know how to modify his kit to make DRL work? Can you help?
Thanks! Steve
