Lightening the load

What about the fan that pulls air into the engine compartment from the right air vent? With headers, no cats, and a small muffler my engine bay is not nearly as cluttered and I'm guessing cools easier. I imagine pulling the sound deadening helps cool everything off as well

I thought the air is pulled OUT of that vent and after observing how fast the temp rises in there using my durametric I'd think twice about removing it on a street car. Got fire extinguisher? To the OP great through post by the way...
