The standard halogens fitted are woefully bad, i have not long owned the car and was looking at the different upgrade paths available from new bulbs to led to hid inc litronic... my mind is set if i can make these fit i really want them
I did look to see if anyone else had done the upgrade on a newer 911 but i haven't seen one, i have included a pic of my headlight as the reflector is different and it already has an internal lens.
Do you think it will be possible to do?
I have these lights as well. Very interested in making this mod work for me.

These are only sold through Pelican now, right?

I looked on their site and can't seem to find them.

Wil non lit (retrofited) lights plug into to a factory lit car without problems; plug and play? Can one set it up so that you can switch back to stock (factory lit) at will

Yes, they are plug and play. I still have my stock lights if I ever wanted to go back to stock.

Yes, they would be plug-and-play. Litronics have the normal headlight connector and a separate connector for the Lit level controller. You would just install the standard retrofitted headlights and leave the second Lit controller connector tied back. If you wanted to revert to Litronics, just reinstall them and plug the level controller connector back into the Litronic headlights.

Edit: Bruce beat me to it.

Thanks guys, I had assumed that I would end with codes / CEL problems. Rather than waiting for a Litronics kit I may just pick some nice halogen lights for a retrofit.

I would image Fred's projectors would cover the adjustment range of my moving eyes anyway

Sorry for the late response. Somehow/something/somewhere wiped out my subscription to this thread. I swear I used to have a subscription to this thread... I've reactivated it just now and will keep an eye on that. Same for the others threads in the DIY section, but fine on some others e.g General section. Weird.... I'm possibly banned who knows loll (fingers crossed)

Someone told me they launch the sales of GT Projectors at the beginning of May. Check again in a week!!! Also heard Pelican plans to keep a little space for the launch at the very bottom of their newsletter... in small letters... just under the unsubscribe newsletter link I think loll

Subscribe to the Pelican Newsletter if you want to be notified before the others

Saw a nicely tricked yellow 986 parked while I was in Ningbo a week ago. Had hallos (shattering discovery). Left a hand written note under his driver-side wiper.... letting him/her know that I'd do bi-xenon projectors install and + lens polish for FREE (+coffee). Making ref to his primitive lighting system of course!

Exterminate the halogen indeed! Trying hard... trying hard

Just did the weekly check through my spam mailbox and sitting in there was an email from GT projectors that my news lights are on their way!

Way to brighten up a dull Thursday!

Cheers Fred, I'm really looking forward to getting these

Adam - at the end I had to retake your blue (anodizing) along with Jeff's Vivo. There were just not... not quite, not quite perfect enough... let's just say. New kit done finally... and I think you'll freak out when you see them (Jeff Vivo as well loll). In fact a few of my mates here saw them on the workbench and all went absolutely bunker on that blue. You'll know what they meant when you have them in hands Different ambient light temp = different blue tones. Sick

That (new) dye I'm getting out of Japan is wicked stuff... not exactly cheap and more and more I use it I'm starting to understand why lolllll it is insanely beautiful!

WE-NEED-PICS!!!! Really want to see those

By not cheap (dye) I mean: $700/kg (min order qty, one colour of course)

You can dye about 200~300 'small/medium' parts with a kg. In the anodizing industry this is consider 'crazy' expansive.

Whatever... had to add this detail, dunno why (tapping myself on the shoulder I guess) lollll

Bored!

I'm super pissed right now...
Got my first (Ebay) headlight in my old oven, cam back to check it after 10 minutes and the top half of the headlight was burnt.

So I got to throw it out and find a new set.
I always suspected that the temperature setting of this oven was off, now I'm sure of it.

oh man... speechless atm

(in the hospital waiting room waiting for my mate who is getting a piece a 2~3" ABS plastic pulled out from his back.) Road racing accident, today at the track :/

Pissing rain in Shanghai, windy, cold, Non stop. and now this Hervé.... wtf.

That oven's thermostat is nasty offset for sure (???). Even at 300+ degree C for 10min... it might possibly chg shape a tad but would never burn. Unless it is one of those mini oven then that might explain what happened.

Good news is there are a few of those headlights available here and there - affordable. I'd also post in the WTB section of the forum... sure a fella member here will give you a break on cost

guess the eBay headlights just can't handle the heat? ( too soon?)

Were they oem?
Pics?

Nah, not too soon.
It'll teach me to stick too long with crappy stuff (the oven).

They were OEM. Good thing I didn't pay too much for them
