Very nice pictures, Martin!

Nine8Six 03-02-2015 12:54 AM

haha cool looking roadster! Nice pics also

Martin you need 5mm front and 15mm rear spacers (its urgent!). Grab ten lug bolts with the rear spacer kit also. Damage shouldn't be more than $200 on the bundle.

That will give you a much more aggressive stance (supersports!). Wider handles better also :)

Got to say that boxster car looks pretty unused man, not many dings.... bet it has low km

Fintro11 03-02-2015 07:00 AM

I bought it almost 3 years ago with 38,000 km it now has 71,000 km

It has a few rock chips and the rims have a few too but the silver hides them well :)

tomonomics 03-12-2015 11:03 AM

First of all, let me apologize to Charles for my lack of skill at Photoshop, you and your car deserve better.

Fred....as I've contemplated upgrading the look of my headlights to your HID Retrofit, I was thinking about what it would look like to come all the way forward to the 918-style lights. Four LED DRLs on the outside bezel, with the Luminoso interior circle lights (parking lights) and the same projector.

Thoughts? Anyone care to do some better artwork on what it might look like?

Install assistance

Just got my new lights and could use some help on the install. Can't seem to locate the PDF and after opening the light I have no idea what I'm looking at, what to remove or what to hook up. Would someone point me in the right direction so I can finish this install?

Thanks,

Strachan

CraigM 03-14-2015 04:37 PM

http://www.gtprojectors.com/downloads/Porsche_986_996_Headlight_Retrofit_Instructions.pd f

Haven't done it yet, but I think this is the pdf you are referring to.

strachan 03-14-2015 06:16 PM

Yes sir and thank you....

Two questions....do I feed the angel eyes wires through the parking light hole and do I put the high beam light back in or leave it out?

strachan 03-15-2015 06:08 PM

Lights have been installed! I'll post pics when it stops raining.
Last question, I get a loud click when I switch from high to low beam. Normal?

Thanks to all who helped and to Fred for an amazing product.

That is the solenoid, normal

Access to Fred's website no longer works. When is Pelican going to post the product?

Jamesp 03-16-2015 03:51 PM

Looks like the last wave of projector headlights is on its way! Cant wait to see them in person!

CHRISP357 03-16-2015 04:27 PM

Are you sure they've shipped? I didn't get an email yet.

A batch was shipped today, but there are more to come ;)
Poor Fred got slammed with orders near the end, it seems.

CraigM 03-16-2015 06:09 PM

I bet he did! I was one of them - wifey agreed to let me pre-spend my birthday gift to snag these before the transition. Certainly no offense to Pelican Parts, used them for years (BMWs before this), but wanted the sure deal at the sweet price.

Ok, Another wave! I'm not surprised business picked up when folks saw the end of a good product.

lol you and I both wish that'd be true

Not the last batch unfortunately. I've passed 21 kits this last Sunday to my little post office lady :/ poor thing....

I got 46 kits remaining to do. No BS. Friggin busy..... getting back from work at 1830 everyday, dinner at 1900 and off to the garage at 2000 until 0100 + full weekends.

You guys a nasty bunch LOL. That's what happen when you set a deadline on something... you end up with over 60 orders in less than a month :/

Hopefully ALL kits should be completed by latest end of March (2015). Sending another batch this coming weekend

Oh, and I had that for dinner yesterday. BLISSSSS. You guys see this as junk food but here, for me anyway, it is a delicacy ("import"). Hope she doesn't follow that thread she'd kill me lolll

I think it would be neat to have this when you go out and lock the car with the fob

I have done the breathing thing with an TI EZ430-F2012 driving the LED in the breathing pattern.

If you want the code I can send you a copy.

It took a bit of playing but eventually got something decent for the EZ430.

I slowed the rate even more than in the video, plus its only driving one LED so you may need to do a bit more work if it cannot drive as many LED's directly.

Are you still busy working on the last batch Fred?
I can't wait to get my lights, winter's almost over in Montreal ;)

Hervé, I am indeed :/

If you guys wants to know what a Limited Edition looks like... well... there you have it. Right there on the kitchen table lol Those are the very (very) last batch of 'made-to-order' GT projectors!

Now the good and bad news:

Bad news first: They haven't shipped out yet. My apologies to all if this seems to take forever

Good news: ALLLLLL of the parts are manufactured, anodized, and ready to be assembled (finally). This will be carried out during the evenings of this week. Assembly is what I call "the easy part" so it should go pretty quickly and without a hitch. No-no machine servo drive burning, no carbide cutter exploding, coolant flooding due to chip jamming, what else happened during the last 4 weeks......etc etc. Assembling those kits is a paradise job (read fun) so I am really looking forward to this week.

Those 23 kits walks out of here this coming weekend and should be in your hands 7~10 days later :)

(so much else I need to update you guys on but I'll start by finishing what I've started - I bet some of you are waiting for those kit - sorry again)

Nine8Six 04-05-2015 12:48 PM

Hey Captain! good to see you here bud. Been thinking about you and your fellow colleagues quite often recently. Sorry to see/hear what's happening in the sky lately - keep up the good work Bruce

Hands are (half)free now. Well... the hard work is all done for sure. The 'mood' is back also lolllll Man.... it was 14~16hrs per day lolllll Nearly 50 kits in 1month.

Mass production of made-to-order items... go figure lolll

Happy Easter to you too there! Very same to everyone on the forum :)

Thank you for the thoughts Fred. I, nor my colleagues, can understand violating the trust that people place in us. I feel terrible if I don't make a nice smooth landing, and for that matter, the entire flight. It just boggles the mind. I can't possible imagine the horror that Captain went through, knowing he was helpless to save his passengers and crew. Very sad.

CraigM 04-05-2015 03:20 PM

Hey Fred!

No worries at all man, custom takes time! What we're getting for the money...shoot, couple extra weeks is nothing.

So excited.

They look great, thanks. No rush. You are providing everyone with a great product, and art can't be rushed right? I'm square in the middle of the pack of folks who were on the fence and jumped in at the last minute overwhelming you with orders at the 11th hour. Thanks for putting up with late orders and providing this product at a great price for all of us, so don't knock yourself out trying to rush these out. Wishing you the best - Jim

What is an average install time, start to finish assuming average mechanical skill and average intelligence (debatable)?
Mine are in this final batch, black Turismo, red angel eyes.

If you have everything you need set up you could do it in a day easy. It took me a few days as I did it after work / in between cooking and kid time
