no, I haven't popped another engine yet.
First one died due to a bad ring.

Have you ever checked the oil pump to make sure it's working correctly?

How are you all monitoring oil pressure and temperature?
What type of gauge and sensors, etc?

yeah, I checked it for scoring. Its not new, but there are no signs that its not operating properly.
It shows about 70psi cold, 20psi at hot idle, and at 3k hot cruise, pressure is about 50psi. All those specs seem to be within the tolerable range.
But when you start turning, it all goes to ****************.

VDO oil temp and pressure gauges in the head ports.
VDO gauges on top of the dash.

some progress!
I've been busy with lots of projects over the last several months. Some of my own, and more for others.
Call me selfish, but I finally got to my own this weekend.
Pulled the motor out of the donor car, and now the motor from my car is out. I've lost 20lbs from sweat and skin off my knuckles.... but that's the hard part.
Now I'll swap a couple parts over and get the used replacement motor up into my car and button her up.
Whether I get to that this weekend all depends on how long a nap I decide to take in my massage chair. Don't judge me.
FWIW, I do not intend to mess with the IMS. I'ma learn the lesson from the last perfectly good bearing I removed, and leave this one well-enough alone.
Special thanks, of course, to Todd (member pcarferher, or something like that, Haha) for helping me:
1. ... decide not to scrap it.
2. .... find a donor car and procure it.
3. .... loaning me his blocks & such that he built for motor swapping in his garage.
And thanks to others here who're helpful.
See y'all soon! Haha

Well done!
And you can tell a DIY'er by the number of band aids on his fingers!

Hey, just a comment but in looking at your photo of the car jacked up, are you sure you have the front blocks oriented correctly? Hard to tell but it looks like they should be rotated where the load is taken by the vertical wooden sides. I may be all wet on this just want to make sure you stay safe.

No, you are absolutely correct. I wasn't expecting anyone here to look that closely, Haha.
It was late, I'd been working a lot, and I was excited.... once I noticed it, I assessed it, decided it's staying there til tomorrow. I'll rectify it before I climb back under it.
Thanks a lot for pointing it out to EVERYBODY! HAHAHAHA
