If it keeps the engine from blowing up, then I can live with the pressure drops. I'm not looking for perfection, I just want to get a reasonable life out of a motor (without spending the cost of a motor to do so).
no, I haven't popped another engine yet.

First one died due to a bad ring.

Have you ever checked the oil pump to make sure it's working correctly?

How are you all monitoring oil pressure and temperature?
What type of gauge and sensors, etc?

yeah, I checked it for scoring. Its not new, but there are no signs that its not operating properly.

It shows about 70psi cold, 20psi at hot idle, and at 3k hot cruise, pressure is about 50psi. All those specs seem to be within the tolerable range.

But when you start turning, it all goes to ****************.

VDO oil temp and pressure gauges in the head ports.

VDO gauges on top of the dash.
