I've been off the grid for a few days. You may have seen this in my 09 S ad. Porsche sold 1900 Boxsters in the US in 2009 due to the stock mkt crash. Since base models outsell the S by approx. 2-1, I estimate there were 600-700 S's sold in 09.

Porsche made a huge leap in quality from the 986 to the 987. They addressed many of the mechanical issues with the 987.2 vs the 987.1. You will enjoy an exciting vehicle if you buy an 09 Boxster. If you're not able to do your own maintenance, then it will cost you way more than owning a Miata. It's referred to as the Porsche Tax, but is true with any European car vs Japanese.
