This is a very old lesson relearned. If you own a house you are always much better off selling it "as is" than after making a lot of expensive upgrades. We happened to do the right thing when selling our first house, the neighbors couldn't believe how much we got for it and regretting making their expensive additions and renovations.
Buying a used M96 Boxter is a lottery, You may do great, but you may also have to spend $10K for a new engine after a few weeks or months of enjoyment. If you can't afford a $10K curve ball you need to look for something else.

Sorry that you had to learn the hard way.

Not like a house. Decluttering (remove 1/3 of the furniture from every room), neuturalizing paint, removing pictures, fresh/cleaned carpet in neutral color, minimal things on furniture tops, clean windows, shades up. Those pay off.
Just as cleaning the car, polishing the windows, removing junk, having good pictures etc. does.

The idea is to help the prospective buyer envision his stuff there.

A man with some real estate experience. I was thinking the same thing. This is especially true with first time buyers with little cash on hand or any idea on how to get done and less interest in actually getting it done.

A couple of simple things like cleaning door jams, wheel wells, and inside wheels takes probably an hr but makes a huge difference making the car look new.

I've never understood why someone would take pics of a car AT NIGHT at a gas station or car wash. Then the pics of the interior show trash all over and a bucket of gravel on the floor. Not a good vibe.

Looks like a 996 with a 997 front end conversion.

(And sorry, it should say "No Air Vent" rather than Air Intake - of course, the Boxster air intake is on the driver side)

If the seller would make a better ad using all the prompts from this thread, It would trigger potential buyers even from remote locations that would be willing to do a long trip to pick it up.

His pictures are screenshots from eBay. He could have had it listed on eBay, too, but something smells fishy.
