Something you don't see every day....

Sure, you expect to see stake bed trucks or old LTDs rotting out in a farm field but never a halfway decent looking 944.

This was on a day I had to drive over 300 miles (round trip) to do a job. Well of course I deliberately took the back roads to get there and passed through a couple of ghost towns. Fortunately the temp was 70 all day so I could go top-down.

I ended up having to backtrack about 10 miles when I encountered a washed out bridge, but it gave me a chance to take a break in a small town and browse through an antique-junk shop there. I was surprised to find this 1/16 scale toy 986!

Also picked up this 300 page Porsche Art Book at a Goodwill for 6 bucks! I think these usually go for $70-80 don't they?

As usual, the 160,000 mile Boxster hummed along happily on the trip. No issues.
