rfuerst, please let me tell you that it wasn't easy..

As I keep following Jake until he finally was by himself and ask him to take me to the CLEAN room to see his 'personal projects' once inside it reminded me of something out of 'Lockheed Martin's sterile satellite assembly room'...

Thats where I was working all day today.. This is a shot I had of the engine prior to removing it from the clean room.

Haha it's funny you bring up Lockheed Martin that's where I work but in the Aero division in Marietta. I was the first " outsider " allowed into the Jake Raby Monroe GA. facility and I was blown away. Jake doesn't do anything half assed and that facility is just amazing. Everything very well thought out it truly is setup for an " engine surgeon " . I have said many times we Georgians are very lucky to have him in our backyard. I doubt I would have gone forward with this build with anyone else.
But back to my car it is with great anticipation that I wait for that first test drive that I take with Jake. I know the car will be a little rough because it will not have a final tune when I pick it up. Jake and I have agreed to pick the car up in this condition so the car can learn as I put on some break in miles. At some point in time Jake and I will agree it's time to turn her back in. At that time dyno tuning and results will be recorded. I'll get the car back and drive some more miles and then she'll be turned in for the final time. That's when the Raby in house camshafts will be installed and final tuning/dyno results will be recorded. So this is going to play out over the next 2 - 4 months but it will be fun I can't wait for some top down driving on local mountain roads rowing up and down the gears and hearing " the beast " bark through that lovely exhaust !

Ironically you made that visit to my shop exactly one year ago today!

I finished Rick's Boxster yesterday. Since he is only 75 miles away I took advantage of him being able to put the first 500 intermediate miles on the engine, following my 100 mile break in that I did yesterday. Once he racks up these miles, we will carry out the dyno sessions, and begin the ECU tune phase of the project.

This one is a pure animal. I'll let him describe to you in his own words how the engine transformed the car, and thats before any tuning, or optimization work has been carried out.

Here's some pics I took during my 100 mile run yesterday to break the engine in. The first pic is what we call "The Summit Photo". This signifies that we have reached the end of a project. This photo is what the owners of all my engines look forward to from the day that we begin the first stages of my process.

Very pleased with this one, as a Stage 3 Track Performer Plus.

Congratulations Rick,

Now you have a true One of a Kind car, reading Jake's description on an earlier post about having huge amounts of instant torque available, I can't help but comment that you may want to consider a nice LSD to compliment that engine (to help you to put the power to the ground..)

On my car the first big mod I made was adding a set of KWV's3 coilovers that I love but the real major change on the car was the addition of a OS Giken multi plate limited slip differential, it truly changes the behavior during heavy acceleration and braking, you will not be disappointed..

I am sure that everyone is waiting to hear your comments of the new engine...

Nice photos! She's a real sleeper. Very tasteful exterior upgrades that gives little indication of what lurks below.
