At any rate, Corvette is not a 'sporty' car. It is a sports car. Hence it can never be chick car.
Range Rover is a chick car. Volkswagen Bug is a chick car. Neither are sports cars.
SUV is the pinnacle of category in chick cardom. Luxury sedans are a distant but respectable second.
Also, the Corvette is perhaps the only American car that the French would line up to see at the start of the 24 Hours of LeMans. Seeing a C7 Stingray drive down the street in Paris, Rome or Madrid would turn more than a few heads.
But here for some reason it gets the tank top and gold chain thing.

I will stand by your comment on Le Mans. I really wish ford would produce something great again, the special edition mustangs are all the same to me. I feel that ford has done great for themselves recently and they need and Ecoboost poster child or something.

I call it a "Box" quite often, is this just as bad as 'sters?'

Barbie likes pink and open air motoring. Who can blame her on the later.

Watched them pull one out of a ditch on the tail of the dragon last year. Lots of power, but no handling. Could be a chick car.

Oh C'mon! I would argue that for that much power, it handles better than some of these older Porsches now selling for princely sums (with not much power).
Unfortunately, the Corvette, like many big power cars, attracts drivers with more courage than skill (I'm being polite there). The same kind of drivers that have totaled more than a few Carrera GT, Viper, etc.
I have a friend like that, he bought a Viper when it first came out. He said the dealer provided no instruction whatsoever. They just waited for him until late in the evening to pick up the Viper and then just slid the key across the the desk. He was used to hot-dogging on the highway in his little BMW convertible. He wouldn't admit to it but the Viper must have scared him straight because I never saw the car leave the garage after the first few 'outings'.

Have to correct you on this one...lots of power, awesome handling, misinformed driver who couldn't handle it.

You know.... I actually do not see much being wrong with driving a car desirable by women, I mean any guy in his right mind, if he has to look to impress anyone, we would assume it's a girl. Alot of guys get big gaudy trucks and lift them to impress each other, but alot of the girls I know see them as death traps. I really don't mind that alot of the girls I talk to drool over my car, while guys say meh or "it's a girls car."

agreed.
i don't understand the desire to drive a vehicle that attracts men, unless they're trying to attract men.... which is fine if that's what they're going for, but if they're straight why do they want men attracted to them and their vehicle?

The Wreck Of The Barbie Ferrari
John Hiatt
Saturday night he comes home stinking
sunday morning she wakes up thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking
does she need to get the kids dressed to go to church
he's pulled a shotgun out of the lurch
he heads for the TV room starts to search
his problems swollen like a river and his reality's shrinking
he finds them huddled by the toy box and splatters 'em all
the ken and the midge and the skipper doll
they look like a family but they're really not at all
well he's sad but he ain't sorry
it ain't the end of the world
it's just the wreck of the barbie ferrari
he wonders if he ever said I do
to that little blonde plastic voodoo
and his mind's gone fishin'
well it started just as plain as the nose on your face
now it's in a thousand peices all over the place
he thought she was driving but it's twisted beyond recognition
all the diapers and the tutus and the basketballs
she was givin' them a lift to the promised mall
but somewhere by the TV that V-12 stalled
as he loaded the chamber her eyes got starry
it ain't the end of the world
it's just wreck of the barbie ferrari
when they get home from church won't they be sorry
he's cornered 'em all on his urban safari
It aint the end of the world...
He's played with cars and guns since he could crawl
now he wishes he'd never met that doll with her face gone
there wasnt nothing he ever thought about
he couldn't drive through or shoot his way out
as he surveys the family room littered with dolls
he can't find one leg to stand on
he aims the gun at his head now he's starting to cry
looking for the courage to let it fly
can't live without his family now that something has died
he's not sure who's hurt not sure who's sorry
It ain't the end of the world...

Back in the seventies I drove Bill's LT-1 Vette. Factory side pipes
(Yes I still have the scars) they did get hot and loud. Special
Handling suspension, heavy duty rock crusher four speed. 3:91
Posi rear end. Two top
Was I a Vette chick. You bet your a-- I was and really enjoyed
Being one.
I drive a 89 Lotus now, purchased it after I saw Sharon Stone in "Basic
Instinct". I have a older Audi 8-L for the winter months.
To haul stuff around. Potting soil, dog, etc etc. I have a old old
Jeep CJ-7. Fiberglass body.
I must say I now consider myself a Porsche chick even thought
It belongs to Bill but he shares.
Must say I get the most comments and looks when I drive it.
Except when trying to get out of the Lotus in a dress and I
Slip off the sill ending up sitting on the ground.
With love,
Jinx
I see you.

I had a conversation with a gal this evening that reminded me of this, "Hey jake, I saw a Porsche today"
"Oh really what kind?"
"It wasn't as cool as yours, it wasn't convertible and had too much cabin, when are you taking me for a drive in it "
Turns out it was a 997tt
So yeah I would rather have the tt but I take pride that she would rather go for a ride in my boxster girls like convertibles and I don't mind.
