Ben Affleck's character in "The Company Men" owned a Boxster. I don't know if it was a 986 or 987, but I figure this is within the spirit of your original post. I don't think Affleck ever actually drove the Boxster, as he's never filmed behind the wheel.

When I managed Porsche's press/test fleet in SoCA, I delivered a new 2001 996 Cab Tip, in Barney purple, it is Matthew Perrys DD in "Nine & a half weeks" with Bruce Willis.
Matt Perry is a Porsche enthusiast & owner. Soon after the 996 was returned to the fleet, Matt Perry wrecked his personal Porsche & PCNA loaned him the Barney996 Cab while he was Porsche-less.

????
"Nine 1/2 Weeks" was made in 1986 and starred Mickey Roarke and Kim Bassinger.
Are you thinking about "The Whole Nine Yards"? Thought Perry drove an econo-box, like a Corolla, in that one. It was filmed in Quebec, circa 2000. Or maybe "The Whole Nine Yards 2", aka "The Whole Ten Yards"? That one was filmed in LA, circa 2004.

You're right, 1 of the whole nine yards where he was a dentist & Willis was a hitman.
I guess the nine 1/2 weeks title dominates my memory!
Ok, thought of a 986 story: PCNA provided Melissa Etheridge with a Cobalt blue 986 hoping she would use it in a music video. When I went to her home in Brentwood CA I found the 986 parked outside under a tree. I had never seen any car so covered in bird crap. She came out to greet me & we talked for a while about her desire for a fun car. Parked under her carport was a BMW 745 & the 66 Falcon she moved to CA in, seen in a previous music video.

I can understand how any normal, healthy male can think that!
Especially when Kim performs that strip tease to Joe Cocker's "You Can Leave Your Hat On".

One Hour Photo, Robin Williams.
The family he stalk's husband has an affair with a woman who drives a wine colored or burgundy 986. NOT de-ambered.

That was going to be my contribution. Really beat up 986 but it was actually the first time the car caught my eye on film.

Just watched a documentary on the sunset strip on showtime. There's footage taken from a motorcycle helmet cam going down the strip. He's following a 986 for awhile.
