so do you keep the key in your pocket or do you still need the key inserted into ignition stalk to disable immobilizer?

I have a RFID card in my wallet that is detected as I approach the vehicle which unlocks the door automatically and vice versa when I walk away. It's totally keyless if you don't count the key blade I sacrificed for the steering lock.
