Replaced the headlight switch this afternoon.
Hopefully, it was the reason why both my low beams would not start occasionally when I switched them on. Otherwise, the electrical part of the ignition switch is the likely root of the problem.
BTW: the Pelican DIY is great. Be sure to read the comments to learn about the bezel trick. All in all, it took me about 30 minutes to do the job. Having done it once, I could do the job in 15 minutes now. Tool needed were a trox 20 driver, a small flat screwdriver for releasing the switch button, and channel locks to loosen the 24 mm nut that holds the switch in place. I didn't really need the 24 mm deep socket Pelican suggested for removing the nut.

Replaced the brake pads all around with new Textar units. I was rather pleased at the ease of pad changes, considering the calipers didn't need to come off. But with the heat (also from a hot engine) I completely soaked a shirt. Ha, Florida.

Road Trip
I drove to Albuquerque… Yes, the Jägermobile is on a road trip again! I could have made it in record time but Highway 40 was shut-down for hours (bad accident), so I decided to take a detour and see all of northern Arizona before going into New Mexico.

Changed the oil in the Boxster; this is only the second time in my life I've changed oil; the first time was helping my son a few weeks ago in his Miata.
Impressions: man that oil comes out fast!!!
It was a lot more turns on the oil filter housing than I thought it would be to get it off. And it was on tight! I torqued it back to 19 ft/lbs.
Put in an LN Magnetic Oil Drain plug and torqued it to 19 ft/lbs oer the little sticker that came on it. After tightening it finger tight; 19 ft/lb was barely a turn of the wrench. I sure hope I did it right.
9 quarts of Castrol5w40 Full Synthetic "with Syntec"
I have saved the filter and will cut it open first chance I get; I am headed to a bday party for my girlfriend's 13 (soon to be 14) yr old daughter!

I thought it was 18 ft lbs for filter housing and 35 for the drain plug???

The stock drain plug is a lot higher, Pelican Parts says it is 37 ft/lbs and 19 for the filter housing (I guess not much diff between 18 and 19)
The LN Magnetic plug had a sticker right over the outside that had to be removed to insert the hex tool that said 19.
No leakage so far but I have only driven 6 miles
The dash says I am right at the bottom of the range, I'll check the dipstick tomorrow and see if I need to add anymore. 9 whole qts in so far.

I have a RFID card in my wallet that is detected as I approach the vehicle which unlocks the door automatically and vice versa when I walk away. It's totally keyless if you don't count the key blade I sacrificed for the steering lock.

Well, since I was BANNED for a while, I kept myself busy with several projects

Cayenne flip key conversion
LCD dash gauge mods(backlight changes color with warnings; normal = blue, redline = red, overheat = flashes red/yellow, oil pressure = yellow, low fuel = orange)
And a third project which I want to finish and decide if I like it before posting

You seem to be on top of your game in electronics. Quick question for you:
Would a 1) oil PSI, 2) BATT voltage and 3) Coolant Temp readings be possible converted into a digital format? e.g. displaying this onto a 2 row LCD panel.
I am thinking about using an Arduino microcontroller and capturing the analog values from each sensor and throwing this digitally to a LCD panel nicely embedded in a faceplate (anodized aluminum with laser etchings type thing).
I already love the idea of the needle gauge style but if I could think of making it look a bit more modern then I'd take this route instead.
What do you think? feasible with a bit of passion? Perhaps you could spare us the energy and design something in the like (arduinos cost $15 each!). You could sell many of those kits to other member I'm sure

I've quickly ran this into Photoshop just so you get a visual of what I am trying to say Behind the faceplate is of course the LCD board, but also a small arduino inside a project box, all sealed with A/B epoxy resin to cure the vibration problem.

Since I bought the car, one of my side vents was improperly installed and therefore lose. One of the attachment tabs was actually on top of the cover, so whoever did that was an idiot or just dngaf (kinda makes me concerned for other parts of the car, tbh, but that's a different story).
Really simple fix but it was my first diy. Looks so much better now. Horray!
