Thats a good idea

I changed my manual transmission just after I got my boxster 3 years ago, I wish I had done this then. That aluminum brace/shield can be a bear.

Oil change. And new brake lights.

Hardtop off and ready for sophomore year at university!

PCA NER AX again today. Now I am pretty much in the middle of the Boxster/Cayman pack. New rubber should improve my performance next time.

A 500 mile road trip over 2 days to MIS in Brooklyn, MI to do my almost-annual NASCAR trip. Got to say, a Boxster looks a bit out of place in a place like that!
A tradition my brother and I started. When he died unexpectedly, my son and I continued.

Some frat guys on their mopeds wanted to race. They were actually pretty respectful and cool though and asked questions about the car and got me to rev it. Pull away slow for them all to "beat me" then blast through the rest of first and second lol.

We all laughed about it at the next light we're I returned to driving normal.

Getting ready for a trip I treated (actually my indy shop) my 2001 Boxster S to a New Clutch, Pres Plate, DM flywheel, new FW bolts, new PP bolts, new rear main seal, new clutch slave cylinder, new release lever & components, some encapsulated crankcase bolts. I have all the used parts and it looks like it was just in time. Had just a slight witness on the clutch plate rivets. IMS was checked an had been done professionally. Now my turn indicators went out! My Boxster S has 74K on it. I am 2nd owner.

Picked up my car from the transporter and drove it for the first time in a few years (a buddy was car-sitting for me). I'm looking forward to driving it around the motherland and taking advantage of some open stretches of the autobahn.

Took her for a spin. It's starting to get chilly at night up here in the south east of Norway, but I still took the top off after this pic was taken.

Recharged the A/C. Luckily, that solved the lack of cold air from the vents. I am very glad that this seems to have done the trick but I won't hold my breath in case I have a slow leak. I'll keep an eye on it for a while...
Next mission: figure out what to use for front parking lights now that I had to disconnect the angel eyes from Fred's awesome projectors. My car won't pass inspection without some sort of front parking lights.

Painted the discolored plastic in the center inlet
Before:

After:

I also painted the red that was showing where the grills had clipped in on the sides. Looks more complete now. I didn't want to cut them out in case I put the grills back some day.

Saturday:
Added GT3 front brake deflectors
Gave it a rinse (and so did nature)
Refilled the tank
Drove it!

That was the first time in 2 (or 3?) weeks I've had it out. I realized last night that, prior to Saturday, the last time I added gas was April 7! And in the past year, I've only driven it about 2700 miles. Yeesh.

New Top

Upgraded to a new top. The old one leaked a little thought the seam on the plastic window. This new one is German A5 material with a rear glass window.

My only complaint is that it's beautiful out but I have to let it stretch for a few more days...
