The car smokes on start up and clears after running about 5 mins.
under hard accel as soon as it hit 5800 RPM it will belch out a thick cloud of smoke that will cause people behind me to pull over.
Under a couple of the test drives the computer will throw a code for bank one O2 making me think it is a issue with oil scavenging out of one of the heads?
Shot in the dark, 986 is not the easiest car to get an accurate oil measure on, I don't think I ever got that dipstick out with a reading on it and the digital can't tell you if it's a hair overfull. I know this doesn't account for the o2 sensor but it's free to check.
Sounds like you have a James Bond feature for evading pursuers.
Isn't that a feature rather than a problem
Are those white clouds or bluish clouds of smoke?
On a typical car that blows bluish smoke when you stomp on the gas, it is the burning of excess oil in the cylinders.
The excess oil got there because:
1) Cylinder rings are damaged (blow by) or seized in their groves (Rings not sealing or scraping oil from cylinders).
2) Engine ingesting excessive amounts of oil from the AOS.
3) ?????
White Clouds = coolant getting into cylinders
Could indicate a blown head gasket or something worse (Cracked cylinder wall)
Check the coolant reservoir for oil, and check the engine oil for coolant.
Since you have already been mucking about with the AOS I would start there and make sure all the hoses are good and connections secure.
After that I would pull all the plugs and see if any are oily and black instead of a tan brown.
If you find an oily one then Fiber optic the cylinder to see if you can spot any cracks in the cylinders or head.
Beyond that its probably specialist/mechanic work.

Well this does not look good. I took off the AOS and started the car. There seems to be more oil moving around than there should be. Am I wrong? Bad pump in the head?
Wow nice camera work. That is alot of oil really close to the AOS. What was the top rpm?? The oil scavenge pumps are pretty much off or on. They are direct drive from the exhaust cam gear driven by chain from the IMS, so if the engine is running the head scavenge pump is working.
About 4 k peak in this video. Under acceleration I guess it would be worst as the oil would pool at the back of the head.
I have no history on this car other than the owner replaced things as they broke. maybe a blocked suction port? I'll try to remove the pump today to inspect.
Well I cleaned the underside of 10 years of crap. Every time I touched the car my hands we're caKed with black crud. Hopefully this will make it a little easier to work on.
Too bad the driveway is now covered with this stuff
Smoke looks bluish so its probably excess oil going through the engine.
Have you checked the plugs?
If one cylinder is darker then it might be a ring or valve problem.
If all are equally colored then its probably some excess oil getting into the induction system somehow.
Overfilled oil could also be suspect especially if you did any oil change or top ups right before it started.

I really hope you find what's wrong.
I have a similar problem, 6 month after changing AOS it started leaking, just a touch, a couple of drops every other way.. and it only leaks when I bring it to redline.
Not trying to pile on and not going to help with your current problem, but in the picture showing the axle, it looks like your inner CV boot may be is torn. Is it just the picture (hopefully)?
