NXT I'm not sure I would use on a beater. That's a good OTC wax for a somewhat looked after paint finish. I've used better synthetic waxes as far as last forever durability. FinishKare 1000P high temp wax and their Pink Wax comes to mind. The 1000P in particular will have the car beading through a nukular war.
Which is ironic because for the low price they send you a 1 pound tin can of the stuff.

I would claybar the car first. Any OTC clay bar will work, I used to see a generic brand at Strauss Auto or maybe it was Autozone or Pepboys...I forget. Same crap.
Use the claybar while you are washing the c ar. This isn't concours afterall. Do a sudsy once over after claying to clear away any crap and rinse thouroughly.
Spray down the surface with quick detailer. Apply the wax to the damp surface.
let it haze. Spray the surface again. Then using speed not pressure, buff clean.
I use FinishKare 425 anti-static spray which gives it a teflon finish for dust to roll off. Essential product for dark colored cars. Autogeek.net has most of this stuff.

P.s.
Sealants are nonsense. A durable synthetic wax wil last months. Particularly on an enthusiasts car that is often topped off with a spray wax quick detailer. Sealants are just a product sold by car wax companies to get you to buy 8 step kits. Total nonsense. All you need is claybar and synthetic wax if you've got a beater car.

IME sealants are synthetic

wax and I use the term somewhat interchangeably. The 3m I recommended is considered a paint sealant rather than a traditional organic wax that will quickly degrade in the sun. The materials in it are synthetic and it is a one step process. I alot of times do clay bar the car and use a mild polish with my PC buffer before applying it though.

"One Grand Blitz Wax was once used on the royal carriages of Buckingham Palace. It is known for its clarity, ease of application, and award wining shine. Each can of Blitz Wax is an authentic original, handcrafted today by the same family that started One Grand in 1933.

Blitz is our most durable paste wax. It does not leave residue and is great on dark colors. When used as directed, Blitz Wax produces a deep, durable, clear finish which preserves and protects against all harmful elements.

Blitz Wax has no abrasives or cleaners. It's a great wax to use on large vehicles that are waxed 2-3 times a year. We recommend it for fleet vehicles, motor homes, boats and aircraft. Blitz may be applied by hand or machine."

Holy motherella ! After looking at Finish Kare's web-site, I'd need a 12 step program in order to complete their 8 step process ! The hell with it, I'm going back to Rally Wax !

LOL.
I think they sell from the site you posted to car dealerships and the marine industry.

For weekend warriors you should use a retail distributor. The paint decontamination kit is popular. The product gets in to clear coat swirl channels to drive out pollutants that the clay bar might miss. All that stuff that causes the paint to dull or for rust to start up. It's like DEEP cleaning for the paint.
