The big mistake was locating the hose clamps high and tight up against the rear bulkhead. If the hose connections/clamps were in the trunk it would have been easy to change.
There are so many jobs on the Boxster where Porsche severely compromised access for the mechanic to create a little more space for the owners stuff. A poor choice looking at my skinned knuckles.
