Well it seems like everything is going to work out. The tow truck arrived and took the car to Rennsport tuning in Erie. The tow truck drivers was nice enough to drop off my wife and I at the hotel we booked for the night. We ended up having dinner at Primanti Bro's in Erie, which is where we planned on stopping for lunch. We also were able to get a rental car to get home. I talked with the owner of Rennsport and was told it is a failed water pump. We agreed to have the car ready for this Saturday morning. I rented the car until then and need to return to Erie to drop it off. So as long as he gets it done this will work out pretty good.
I planned on changing the water pump later this summer, so I guess it will just be early.
Big shout out to Rennsport Tuning in Erie PA for getting my car in and working with me on picking it back up this weekend. I'm sure his shop is very busy and I can't thank him enough for helping me out.

Hey Tommy, sorry to hear about the water pump. Make sure you have them back flush the system even if it looks like all the impeller parts come out.
Question for you about the top control - what are you using to automate the switch?

Ike84 do you mean the auto open relay I was talking about? If so I think TechArt made it. It allows you to open or shut the roof with one touch under 30 mph. It is a replacement for the stock top relay. I think you can jump a couple of the pins on the stock relay to bypass the E-brake and maybe have the car moving and the top will still operate, but I doubt it would be one touch.

I did that mod. The relay jump. It's not one-touch. Have had the feature about 3 years and have used it as many times. Since I've gone manual... not so much.

The one touch is nice in the northeast. Since it rains here a lot it is nice to be able to keep moving and shut the top. The slower you go the safer it is for the top i'm sure, but it's nice not to need to come to a complete stop and have to deal with the E-brake.

I did the relay bypass many years ago. It was one of my earliest and fondest mods...simple to do and the result was very much "that's the way it should have been from the beginning"
I was wondering more about the hardware involved. I've seen some threads using arduinos to intercept the switch input and then run voltage out for a set period of time to accomplish the task. I don't know Arduino though, and I'm not sure that "learning a new language" is justified by the goal lol.
