I really need help as I'm losing the will to live with this car, the roof has been broken for a while and I was told the specialist left it in "manual operation" but it doesn't manually operate!!! They told me that you need someone each end to pull the clamshell up as its too stiff, I've had an issue because the garage for an unrelated job needed to get to something and the roof will not operate! Is there anything I can check for? I dont understand how if they have disconnected everything the roof can still not be operated manually. I can't sink anymore money into this pit so I'm not going to get it fixed If it is above my pay grade, cheers

When converting to manual operation, I've seen guys put trunk latches to hold down the clamshell. Maybe look for a release cable tucked behind/beside the driver's seat.

When the owners manual says that the laws of physics can't be broken by this car, I took it as a challenge...
contact the "specialist" who left it in manual operation and find out exactly what they did instead of fixing the issue.
Yeah sore subject really, they have a massive following and great reviews but they damaged the front end of my car and eventually agreed to pay but not had any communication since
Later tonight I'll re-post the old video I had about converting to manual in case it's helpful, but I expect there are plenty of others on YouTube by now.

Here's the video I made a few years ago when I had a top stuck. It shows how I converted it to manual operation. The shop that worked on yours may have left the links to the clamshell connected.

I`m not sure if that helps, but if the mechanism is still intact you can operate the motors by bypassing specific connections using two wires after removing the control unit. This is how I operate my top until I get a new control unit. Obviously if they disconnected everything this won`t work but since you are not sure perhaps it`s worth a shot. These pins need to be shorted: 25-22; 27-23 for closing, 27-22; 25-23 for opening.
Any chance the shop disconnected the pivot arms for the top but not the clamshell? When I had mine disconnected, the clamshell was easily raised by one person.
