I acquired my driver's license back in 1972...shortly thereafter, my older brother purchased a 1969 911S 2.0 liter with mechanical fuel injection. The first time he let me drive, I was instantly hooked and intoxicated with the sound. When I could afford, I started small with a '74 914 2.0, then went on to various 944 series and finally an '83 911sc. Since then, I've owned numerous 911 variants...'80s Carreras, '88 turbo, '93 RSA and so on.

Being a track instructor, I've likely driven just about every model of Porsche out there, including twin turbos and GT3s. Still love the feel of the early, lightweight long hood 911s over the newer models, though. Pretty scary how fast the 3.8 and 4.0 liter 911s are these days.
