    Hello 986 Forum,

I hVe 1997 base Boxster 5 speed manual. The car has 120K km and appears to have the original clutch. The clutch went out soft and does not engage anymore. I disengaged the clutch by hard push and pull and then disconnected the battery thinking it would reset computer hoping fixing clutch. I then put the car in 3rd gear and started the car while pressing on gas pedal. The clutch seems to be stuck and not engaging or disengaging at all. The car engine turn on without clutch and runs for 20 to 30 seconds misfiring and stalls. Has new coils, spark plugs, air filter, oxygen sensor, and 94 octane gas. Engine was running fine before clutch went out. Please advise.

I have a 2002 Boxter with a windshield wiper that isnt working. I took it to a Mansfield mechanic that says he isolated the problem to either the relay or wiper motor. He did not know how to test either part and gave up. Any suggestions? deepwatur@aol.com

A workshop would be great, I imagine many members would be enthusiastic to learn how to to basic things with their cars. As for the paint, I did hear you mentioning wanting to paint it while we talked, but I am surprised you went through and did it! Primer should be left to cure for twenty four hours to be safe, then painted on. The only thing I have painted would be a torn dash cover, which came out pretty good. Worst case scenario would be the paint didn't go as expected, and a $6 container of paint stripper restore it to default look.

O.K. Kenny, You got a bunch of DFW members - now what do we do? Want to have a parade? How about a workshop? Of course, we will have products to recommend but we can offer something every Boxster will need to do…such as bleed the brakes (I have a Power Bleeder), Set Up Tips, Shop Talk, Intake and Exhaust Q&A (have Pro Speed guy come out and explain the benefits of his deal). He also had stuff he does not advertise such as bumpers and such. It would be good, once we get a bunch of people, to have him meet with our numbers….then he will more actively find the "deals" we need.

Congrats on being a grad! Now, as they say, after school your life really begins!

We are going to Nickelback tonight. BTW I decided to paint my console, bumperettes, dash panels, A/C trim, etc. Not sure how it is going to look. It DOES NOT look good now with primer and a couple coats on it! EEEK Did I ruin my car?
