Just put on another set of rims and tires on my boxster. The old turbo twists date the car and new ones make it a bit more modern. I’d upload a picture but don’t know how to from my iPhone and everything seems bigger then 2mb

I upload directly from my iPhone. The forum automatically resizes (even says so in the upload window).

Took a nice spirited drive through the Spanish back roads.

I feel comfortable with his recommendations. Also, the “star” I had In my windshield Thursday night becas a 6 inch horizontal crack all on its own while the car was parked on Friday. I went out for a drive in it today and the crack didn’t get any longer, but I’m curious to see if it grows some more tonight. |
I stood outside my car again and looked at the windshield where a rock came from a truck heading the opposite direction and caused a chip in the glass. It's about the size of a nickel. When I heard the noise I did not see anything in my vision. However after looking the windshield over I found the spot. It's about 1" above the windshield wiper far left on the drivers side.
The new Trim Frame and Seal along with the OEM Windshield from Porsche cost 692.10. My insurance company says "No deductible!" I now have to drive 80 miles to the Dealership for the install. I might also mention the Glass company said I could not drive the car for two hours. This is the second Windshield claim. The other was a rock 5 years ago on the wife's VW. |
I'm getting my new windshield on Tuesday. I went to the dealership and bought the 2 piece windshield trim exterior seal for the Boxster S with the titanium plastic and the black rubber. My windshield guy only had a one piece black rubber seal and I didn't want to do that, since my hardtop has the same 2 piece seal with black and titanium on the back window.

Degrease / Wash / clay / wax, then vacuumed the roof and cleaned the inside. Long overdue for this season, but it looks new-ish. I need to do a real polishing sometime soon, and refinish (replace) my wheels.

They really do ruin the front end of 99% of vehicles. |
Went to the bottle bank, it’s about 15 mins walk there and back. Unfortunately I drove so it took about 2 hours. The car just wanted to go the opposite direction???

I just cannot believe this rattle is the DMF, or Transmission. The other day after starting the engine, and the car sat in the garage for a few minutes, I started to back out with the engine at idle rpm's around 6 to 7 hundred. When slowly letting out the clutch I hear this rattle. At that engine speed is when things may vibrate, thus rattles might be heard. I don't hear this noise backing up with the engine up to temperature. My thoughts are it's the darn muffler. I have rubber hammered on it several times but don't hear or see anything loose. Dr. Know around? |
Don’t know if this helps as my experience is with the euro system exhaust but you never know.
It was easy to identify the large ones on top of the cats but there are others before the cats around the O2 sensor. These are spot welded on but on mine the welds has rotted away. Real annoying little rattle at a certain rev / resonance. I cut them off when I had the cats out which is another story. Hasn’t had any effect on anything that I can tell and passed the emmisons test with excellent results. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...107205c77d.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Was yesterday, but fell asleep before editing the pic size. :o
Did an autocross with the local PCA region. My second for the year (or ever), and turned in better times than before. :) https://imgur.com/7pjUNez.jpg https://imgur.com/kaGu73i.jpg |
Changed the spark plug tubes and cleaned up the mess the old ones made :D
I devised a simple tube removal tool from some strip aluminum that I had lying around. The benefit of this one is that it can be used without removing the spark plugs. It works great ;) http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1530687227.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1530687274.jpg And a before and after of the mess... http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1530687383.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1530687443.jpg |
Played with a set of old rollbar covers.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1530705284.jpg

Well done sir. Does having the plugs in make it easier to get the new tubes and o-rings inserted?

Bored waiting for our 4th of July cookout to start, so I ordered the Rennline pedals/deadpedal and HT extensions (silver pedals, black rubber dots, red HT) with the 10% 4th of July discount code directly from Rennline.

I didn't want to take my plugs out because I just replaced them (that was when I discovered the leaking tubes) and taking them back out just seemed like extra work. |

Not sure this goes here or the funny story thread.
I did not close my top when I arrived at work, as it was still cool out was going to make a coffee run before I closed the top. Well ended up 3 people for coffee, so forgot to close the top. Upon my return to my car when I was going to another location to install an internet connection I had MILLIONS of very small bugs on my car in my car friggin everywhere. So had to go take a short spirted drive to try and blow them out of the car!!!!! Will have to vacuum this afternoon now.:D |
