oil cloud when running hard

Video looks like an AOS problem. Hard to believe that a new one was bad so I'd check all of the connections, tubes, etc.

after replacing the AOS a second time it looks like I may have found the real problem.

there is a over pressure valve in the system that of all things vents to atmosphere!

If course it is not called that.

Lets see if cleaning it will help. It was all clogged up. This is why you change your oil and often.

Well this does not look good. I took off the AOS and started the car. There seems to be more oil moving around than there should be. Am I wrong? Bad pump in the head?

Yes the camera was covered in oil at the end of the recording.

I'm going to plug this port up so the AOS will be sucking from the driver's side to see what happens.

Remember this is not under load, not as high rpm, and and not under acceleration.

Wow nice camera work. That is alot of oil really close to the AOS. What was the top rpm?? The oil scavenge pumps are pretty much off or on. They are direct drive from the exhaust cam gear driven by chain from the IMS, so if the engine is running the head scavenge pump is working.

About 4 k peak in this video. Under acceleration I guess it would be worst as the oil would pool at the back of the head.


I have no history on this car other than the owner replaced things as they broke. maybe a blocked suction port? I'll try to remove the pump today to inspect.
