True, but since this is a common failure item, after replacing the original, the protection against the elements might be worse off than if Porsche had just designed waterproof plugs to faciliate the replacement.

Anyway it's not a big deal, I'll probably solder the wires, use shrink plastic insultation and silicon the whole thing for protection.
