There seems to be large gaps at the spoiler and rear fender areas

Haha, thanks TO.
There still is a lot in the Pipeline, lots on the wish list, let me surpise you, just saying
Correct, Ciao, GAPS...the MAIN headache of the TOP.
As I said WIP pics...the adjustment process is a major PITA.
The top itself sits 3mm too high right now, the mother of all problems here.
Only God knows the proper and best way to cure and install it

well, it's fiberglass so you can't expect perfection - you'll get one side perfectly gapped and level and not be able to get the other, then visa versa. rear hatch is especially problematic - it appears yours came from the same mold as mine and has all the same inherent flaws.
for adjustment, the morst versatile tool is where the spinlocks attach to your car - you can move them up/down, in/out, forward and back. one of the issues with hatch fitment is the weatherstrip which tends to push it up.
ps, i have one of those blinker units that make your third brake light flash when you brake; pm me if you want it and i'll get it in an envelope to you.

concerning the blinker: Thanks for your offer, TRK! I have that emergency brake light already installed
Well, we knew what we could expect, when we got our TOPs
As probably 95% of all TOPs tend to push up...they should have adjusted the molds, but that is never going to happen, as my seller even said, who had direct connections to the inventor and producer of those Z-Tops.
Yup, you are right, all touch points are key to adjustments (3x windshield, 2x sides, 1x lock for the hatch).
Especially the weatherstrip rubber for the TOP and the hatch are major "up-pushers". But I am okay with it...I don't attend any concours/contest etc., and I am going to make it finally work, I am confident!

I haven't followed this thread a lot but it's turned out to be really really nice! I do have one question though, why the Cayman badge on a Boxster?

Thanks! Front splitter is planned for July/August (will have several other pieces repainted too)...painted and probably installed by the shop right away.
In the mean time there are some interior touch ups in the making...so I can slowly finalize the center console. On my car is actually next to nothing easy fit plug'n'play...life would be too easy...lol.
Cayman Badge on a Boxster: Just to confuse people ...the big red Z moved upwards (was supposed to be next the Cayman) --> Cayman Z (top)
Btw...still looking for mid sized Spyder emblems: --> for my speedster humps
Yup: the 986 is the most versatile Porsche EVER built...just sayin'...

Did a test...up is better for the rear view somehow although it is more difficult to attach it securely. That will be the plan now.
Need to call Xtina for a car wash...jeez those pollen on my car

"Thermal Imaging" after 1st drive since...well, it felt like years, although it was only months. And it felt good. It was a tough fight.

Sticking there for 2 weeks now...not peeling off so far. Sturdy, UV and scratch resistant, seems like a perfect alternativ to painting.
Sanding, primer, car wrap foil, done. Easy to install, easy to change. It is either that or Porsche Pepita.

Put in a BMC-filter today and dusted the engine a bit
Now I got the perfect intake sound (race air filter + desnorkeled).
Only thing missing now is the PSE with switchable valves. In that config even my 2.7l will sound like a fully grown Porsche.
Btw...an AUDI S3 Cabriolet with its +310HP showed me, that my car is almost 20 years old...they have endless power in their brand new cars, we don't...lol.
I don't need that for my ego, but they do...lol.

get a few items back from the paintshop…
seal gray covers (looks much better now, used to be matte silver)
silver side vents with zunsport grills (modded)...THAT was REALLY necessary, because my chrome side vents were bubbling and peeling.
and other little bits and pieces in seal gray, oh and the front splitter.

Thanks. ROW/German car, yep.
PSE with valves (+DME Tune) will be the last mod of them all.
Yes...I feel some power gains with the IPD/74mm throttle/desnorkel/larger intake vents and the BMC air filter. OF COURSE it is nothing like a Turbo tune on a modern car.
The intake Sound is awesome now. Kinda makes me wonder, if I will be able to hear much from the PSE later.

My car is ROW also, was passing emails with Rhonda FVD on order of mods. So was curious about the plenum before the exhaust.
She suggested doing the exhaust, filter, software, the plenum. I am thinking to collect all bits and install in one shot. But I am now kicking idea of swapping in fvd headers, fvd sound version muffler, filter, ipd plenum, and software tune.
I miss Germany, great roads, beer, and food!
