Chemical Guys Polished, Sealed and Waxed

Spent about 6-7 hours doing a multi step polish and wax with some amazing results.

1. Wash
2. V34 polish on back half of car (deeper scratches) -orange pad
3. V36 polish on entire car - white pad
4. V38 polish on entire car - blue pad
5. Black Light sealant and gloss - black pad
6. Pete's 53 wax - red pad or hand application (I chose to do it by hand after all that polishing)

I have a flex rotary polisher but used the porter cable dual action polisher to be safe.
I used the corresponding hex pads with each step. 5 drops of product on pad, dab across area, spread on setting 1, polish on setting 5-6 in slow cross hatch pattern with slight pressure then follow with no pressure one pass.

I started in the morning and the sun was setting by the time I finished but I snapped a few cell pics before it got dark. I also installed the smoked LED 3rd brake light, recharged the a/c, replaced the spark plugs and tubes and bought some royal purple synthetic oil to try out.

Results:

Not too bad for 15 year old black paint

Fabulous. That's dedication. Makes me feel bad for my car sitting in the parking garage @ O'Hare with a month worth of winter grime on it!

Thanks, unfortunately it's pollen season here so the car was getting dusty AS I cleaned it. At least there is no snow here . Just have to dust it off a lot.

The car looks superb.....what have you done to achieve the slightly raised rear spoiler

Thanks for the compliments guys! It does a lot more head turning with a showroom finish

It's an aftermarket spoiler that was on the car when I bought it. Google the site called eagleday and they have a spoiler that's called "porsche boxster turbo style rear wing". Costs about $320 dollars from them. I really like the look with that spoiler and it actually looks like one when its up. (the flat black piece is eliminated so air flows around it which is necessary for this design).

A work of art! Looks beautiful! I just got the Depo tail lights. I don't suppose you wired the outer LED's to work as brake lights? I need to get after that and figure it out.

The depo tail lights that came on my car are actually halogen bulbs. I was thinking of switching to LED tails but these look fine for now.

Thanks! I barely had the motivation to do it on my own car haha. It's sad when waxing is the easiest and shortest part of the process.

I meant changing the tail light assemblies completely and replacing them with the newer LED version. I saw them for around 160 online but like I said these still look new so I'm okay with halogen for now.

Good grief. If only I could stop by Orlando to see with my own eyes. Black Boxster drivers unite.

We got them over the pond as well

Here is my 14 year old 986, the older the better, the big problem is finding a place to wax it up as it rains here 24/7 and all year long. Pastel yellow is not common in the UK but she looks good.

Wow, parking those cars on the ceiling must really maximize the garage space...not a bad idea.

very nice. Have you used Finish Kare 425 as an LSP? Very handy back when I had a black car.
Cut down on the detailing big time. Not as critical on my silver paint now because that color hides dirt so well but I still buy it by the gallon on autogeek.net

WOW. As others have said...amazing. My poor baby is hibernating this winter. I didn't get around to putting on the winter wheels/tires so it's been there for three months or so now. I can't wait for it to warm up and do to mine what you did. It needs it...badly. They sure look great when they're freshly polished and waxed don't they!

Nothing can substitute for good ol elbow grease when it comes to detailing the car. Your effort def paid off and it is absolutely stunning!
