Two more upgrades complete!

I completed a couple more hacks/upgrades yesterday. Pics are attached. New aluminum pedals and the garage door opener hack. Bought the OEM button online ($20 or so) and took the insides out of one of my old garage door transmitters and hooked it all up so that both buttons engage the transmitter, the button lights up and the garage door opener is hooked up to the 12V power supply of the car.

Super fun stuff - unbelievable what this forum has inspired me to do.

Next on the list are:

- New 18" or 19" rims
- Painted center console (DIY)
- Leather covered armrests and door panel (DIY)
- New floor mats (already ordered)
- Leather restoration of seats (ordered from Colorplus)

Thanks for all the great inspiration in here.

Thanks,
Lars

Both of those look great. Amazing job. Where did you order the pedals from? How long was the install? Keep the posts coming, can't wait to see your future projects.

I ordered the pedals from ****************************************************.com - I think they are called "996 Sport Pedal Set". Install is pretty easy if you have basic DIY skills. Accelerator and Footrest are super easy. Brake and Clutch requires you to remove the existing plastic pedal covers and then drill 3 holes in each pedal and attach the new pedals with small bolts.

The whole thing probably took 45 mins.

Thanks,
Lars

garage door hack- different install

i just did my garage door hack using a different switch. i bought a small micro switch at Radio shack for $3.19 and used the round blank on the left side batwing opposite the lighter. i drilled a 1/2" hole in the blank, installed the switch and mounted the board from the garage door opener inside the center console . if i need to change the battery i just have to remove the upper console storage box.
nice and clean and total cost was about $5.

That looks much better. Now even the "feeler" bumps line up.
