Front trunk; remove the two side plastic covers...
Front trunk; remove the two side plastic covers up by the cowel area. There is a drain hole on each side. It might just be old tree needles and dirt making the water look 'rust' colored.

If I remember correctly, it's a failing door switch. It's not sensing the door is still open, thus allowing the window to go back up.
Not that spendy of a part, PITA to replace.
